We are excited to announce the launch of SWIRFlex-DT (Advanced Organic Semiconductor Materials for Flexible SWIR Photodetection), which officially kicked off on May 8, 2026 in Athens, Greece.

Funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder programme, SWIRFlex-DT brings together leading research organisations, universities, and industry partners across Europe to develop the next generation of flexible shortwave infrared (SWIR) sensing technologies.

Our mission:

• Develop advanced organic semiconductor materials for SWIR detection
• Create high-performance photodiodes and phototransistors
• Build flexible and large-area SWIR imaging systems
• Strengthen Europe’s leadership in next-generation optoelectronics

Target applications:

1. Healthcare & wearable monitoring
2. LiDAR and high-speed sensing
3. Night vision technologies
4. Environmental monitoring

During the kick-off meeting, partners aligned on the project’s vision, objectives, and roadmap for the next 42 months.
